Is SYB only for illness?

No of course not, SYB can be used to set up a site for anyone who may be in need of support. For instance you can set up a SYB site for someone in the military, or a person expecting a baby. You could even set a site up for someone on a group or team that has not been able to attend for whatever reason.

What does it mean to be "searchable"?

When you click on the searchable box it means you are really taking advantage of the full potential of SYB. SYB was set up to help people with their issues be it illness, maternity, Military Service or any other. The best way to gain support is to allow other people with similar experiences to share what they have learned from there experience. In time you may be able to help someone else through a difficult time. If you chose to be searchable you are allowing people outside of your immediate circle to have access to your SYB page. They will be able to read the messages and news items that are posted on your site and write to you. It's more then likely you will find people you never knew existed who want to share and help you with whatever you may be going through that inspired your SYB page. We at SYB encourage you to chose to be searchable but understand that some issue are too private to go beyond the immediate circle of those closest to you and as such would not expect you to check the search button. If however at anytime you wish to change the setting you are free to do that. If you do however change the setting please remember that those who have been given access to your site prior to stopping the searchable option will still be able to get to your site.

Does SYB share information?

SYB will not sell any lists. SYB will only share information providing you check the box to allow searching. With the search box checked you will be allowed to find people in similar situations as you and as such may find helpful tips to deal with whatever it is you are dealing with. We at SYB believe that the ability to search is one of the greatest ways to help out others. Often those who may be enduring a challenge that those around them are not feel isolated and alone but by allowing others to search out and make contact SYB can help to create a support group that can be incredibly helpful.

What if I have a function that I think would be great for SYB?

If you have an idea for a function or application that is not currently available on SYB we encourage you to email us and let us know what it is. If we feel that it would be a good addition to SYB then we will do our best to implement it.

How can I guarantee that no one will write anything inappropriate?

This is something that is very important to us at SYB. Since it is impossible to stop people from writing inappropriate things we have built in the ability to edit the comments. Editing comments is made available to both the person who created the site and the person who the site is made for.

How many sites can I make?

In theory you can make as many sites as you like but remember that as the administer for a site you will be responsible to monitor the site so it's probably not a great idea to create more then you can handle. However if you know many people that could use a site like SYB then by all means go for it.
